TrikeOnce you get into the Philippines you'll have many options as to ground transportation. First and foremost, when you land at your airport of choice chances are you'll need a ride to wherever you'll be staying at. Because this site is geared towards single guys traveling I'll be assuming that you don't know anyone there and that you'll be staying in a hotel. If you make your flight arrangements on Travelocity they should give you an option to purchase ground transportation to and from your hotel. You can always take a taxi to your destination as well. They're easy to find at the airport and in the cities.

However, once you're checked into your hotel and you're in the city try taking Jeepneys. Do be careful though. Even though Jeepney's are much cheaper than cabs the drivers will try and charge you more than they should. Try and work out a deal with them before you get on board. Even if you're not the bargaining type the Jeepney's are considerably cheaper than cabs.

Another cheap option is a trike. Trikes are basically a motorcycle with a side car. These are great source of transportation and for the most part very safe and reliable. Altough trikes are convenient I only recommend taking trikes for a short distance around town. Trikes just aren't made for a long distance haul. They have no place to store luggages and sitting in the side car for a long period of time can be uncomfortable. Feel free to bargain with the drivers as well. Any fee can be negotiable.

For those in need of transportation from Manila to Angeles City I highly recommend the Margarita Station. Their service is second to none. Depending on what kind of vehicle you request the cost for a pick-up ranges from P2400 - P2750 ($50 - $70). The cost on holidays are a bit higher. Although there are cheaper alternatives I really like the fact that I don't have anything to worry about when making the trip to-and-from Manila to Angeles City. All their vehicles are air-conditioned and the drivers are down right friendly. They also have a beverage service for an additional fee, which includes San Miguel beer to mineral water. Trust me when I say their service is well worth every single penny.
