For me the best way to pick and choose a hotel is on Travelocity and Orbitz, which is where I make all my travel arrangements. Everyone has a different spending range and on both sites you can pick and choose from several hotels. Not only can you choose from different price ranges but you can also read reviews. Another great feature for accomodations on Travelocity and Orbitz is you can view photos of most hotels. Sometimes you won't be able to find any hotels on the sites I suggested and if that is the case I suggest checking out AsiaTravel.com. If you're on a strict budget when it comes to lodging I highly suggest checking out CouchSurfing.com and the Hospitality Club. These are great websites to find a person in the Philippines, or anywhere else in the world for that matter, to host you for however many nights they can accommodate you. This is a great way to meet local people and experience the country from their point of view. The only downside is if and when you meet a Filipina girl privacy can be a issue since you're staying in someone else's home.
